Terms of use

MetaPurify is a free, independently operated web project. Contact: privacy@merapurify.com.

Permitted use

Use the tools only with files you have authority to inspect, modify and save. Do not infringe others’ rights, evade lawful provenance requirements, attack the website or interfere with other visitors.

Local processing and your files

Image files and extracted metadata are processed on your device during normal tool use. They are not uploaded by the tools. Ordinary page and asset requests still reach our hosting/CDN infrastructure. See the privacy notice for details.

You retain your rights in your files and outputs. Selecting a file for local processing does not grant the operator a license to that file. Keep your originals and inspect outputs before relying on or sharing them.

What the results mean

Metadata inspection and removal cover supported formats and recognized structures. No result guarantees anonymity, authenticity, provenance, forensic truth or removal of every proprietary, hidden or malformed metadata structure. Visible content and invisible watermarks can still identify an image.

The C2PA checker examines embedded credentials locally. Remote manifests and online certificate-status checks are disabled; it does not use an external signer trust list. A missing, invalid or removed credential does not prove whether a scene is authentic or AI-generated. Forensic indicators are informational, not expert evidence.

Availability and changes

This free side project may change features, limits or availability. Browser capabilities vary, and damaged or unusual inputs may fail. There is no uptime or file-preservation commitment.

Intellectual property and components

Rights in website code, content and branding remain with their respective owners. Third-party components have their own licenses; see third-party notices. These terms do not replace rights granted by those licenses.

Warranty and responsibility

The tools are provided as available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator makes no warranty that every field will be detected or removed, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that outputs will suit a particular purpose. You should verify results before relying on them.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, remedies or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Applicable mandatory law continues to apply; these terms do not impose a chosen court, arbitration requirement or waiver of collective remedies.
