How it works

Useful privacy, without privacy theater.

Both files are parsed with the same inspector the viewer uses, and the two reports are aligned field by field. Use it to check your own cleaning or a platform's reprocessing.

  1. InspectRead supported metadata locally.
  2. Report clearlyShow what was actually found—nothing inferred.

What it checks

  • Unchanged, removed, added and modified fields, with both values shown
  • Filter by changed fields only or by sensitive categories
  • Built for before/after checks: clean a copy, then compare it with the original
  • Works across formats: compare a JPEG with its cleaned WebP re-encode

Questions, answered

What this tool does and does not do.

What is this for?

Verification. Clean a copy of your photo, then compare the two files to see exactly which fields disappeared. The same flow shows what a social platform's reprocessing left behind.

Can I compare different formats?

Yes. Files are parsed independently, so a JPEG and a PNG of the same picture compare fine. Fields that only exist in one container show up as added or removed.

Does 'unchanged' mean the files are identical?

No, it means each field's value matched. Pixels, encoding and container structure can still differ; that is the image diff's job.

Where do my files go?

They stay on your device. Both are parsed locally in your browser, and neither image is uploaded during normal tool use.
